I got my first Rough by being a volunteer at a Humane Society shelter here in the U.S. She was going to be put down the next day. I'm so glad I worked there that day as she's made my life so much better for the past 6 years. She's going on 13 now and still sweet natured.

Hello from Kingston Ontario. We had three roughs and a smooth, we now have two smoothies. I love 'em all but I do miss the joy of the roughs very much.
They're such good dog's. I can totally understand their bark. My Collie has such an intricate language, but the funny thing is, they're constantly saying the same thing... And that is, I'm proud to be alive!
FINALLY!!! OMG Your Collies are spectacular !!! I grew up with collies and my Mother had a hand in breeding them with a friend with them. Our personal pets were 2 collies and 1 sheltie. Over at the breeders there must of been at least 12 to 15 between the breeding stock and the puppies at the certain times of the year crazy. My memories of collies were strong beautiful lines big ruff handsome head with a long strong snout, great personality and herding dog. I grew up in the 60s. I'm mortified at what they put out there these days and call a collie. I don't know if its the breeding or what but theres spindly no large chest and there un sure of them selves AND the faces look rickety. Ive seen it several times out here in California until I happened on your page. YOUR DOGS! show the breed as I remember. Thank you PLUS their having a great time!!! Thank you !
I have Shelties and one is as big as that Tri-color in the beginning. I call him my Big Mac and my other two miniature ones my Happy Meals. Lol. My big one is 80 pounds; overweight for sure, but oh how huggable he is! I would LOVE to be there to interact with these Barky faces. How wonderful they are, and beautiful. Oh to have puppy Shelties again. Will have to wait until these grow older. No house is complete without Shelties and Collies. Lol
Imagine if all those collies had been blowing their undercoat 🤣🤣🤣 I would have loved to have my collie play with her kind (except she wasn't even born yet back then lol). They're so beautiful. It's making me go hug my own
Never have to worry about any of those Collies trying to be an aggressive Alpha male seeking to dominate the other Collies. That is the most sociable, gentle, playful, loving Dog on the planet. They will play with each other until the end of his/her life. Just a beautiful sight to see. The female was getting the hormones going on those males. Can’t resist instinct of procreation however. Even then the Collies didn’t fight each other. Makes me miss my Collie though I’m not sad from watching them. Just happy I got to experience how wonderful the Collie breed is.

Patrick Gragg but some of the smaller ones have an "adult" appearance. So I stand by my opinion that the smaller dogs are in fact shelties, albeit most are collies.

Our collies are a gift. When I was very sick my tri color laid by my bed and would not leave. She turned 10 today and is healthy and still loyal.

My 'sheltie' is 16kg....when we got him genetically tested he was half rough collie lol.
